Man Body Discovered Dead Floated On Flood Water At Ariara Market, Aba (Photos)

On the news earlier today, a dead body of an unidentified man was located floating on flood water at Ariara International Market accompanying the heavy downpour encountered yesterday been September 13, in the city.

Abia Facts Newspaper reports came to us that the body which was found naked was deposited at a police station around the popular market afterwards.

The identity of the victim and how he died is not yet known.

A 22-year-old woman, identified as Okafor Sharon, was on Thursday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court for allegedly causing grievous harm on a sales attendant in Lagos state.
The prosecuting officer, O. Balogun, told the court that Sharon unlawfully assaulted the complainant, simply identified as Comfort, with a breakable plate and injured her on the face following a disagreement over payment for drinks and N400 fried meat at a bar in Lekki Phase One, in Eti Osa Local Government Area.
The victim had served Sharon who ordered for drinks and N400 fried meat.
The suspect, a second-hand cloth dealer, was at the bar in the company of a man, simply identified as Kingsley.
The sales attendant, afterwards, demanded for payment as she was about to retire for the day and needed to tidy up sales book for the day.
Sharon was said to have ignored the victim, insisting that Kingsley would only pay when they were done.
Comfort, however, tried to take back the drinks when Sharon threw a plate at her which damaged her face.
The prosecutor noted that the accused, who was arraigned on one count bordering on the offence and accused of unlawfully causing the victim grievous bodily harm, contravened Section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Vol. 44, No. 2, 2011.
The accused person however pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs. A.T. Omoyele, adjourned the case till September 16 for mention.

Two suspected fake soldiers who allegedly abducted and rape 15-year-old girl, left by the roadside in Oworonshoki area of Lagos State have been arrested.
According to a popular daily, the suspects – Damilola Balogun and Joseph Agbo allegedly raped the teenager till daybreak.
A police source in Owoshonki Police said: “The victim came to report the matter at the station. She was on an errand along Akerele Street in Oworonshoki when the men, who wore army camouflage, accosted her.
“Before she could cry for help, they had forcefully whisked her away on a motorcycle to Muritala bus stop where she was raped till daybreak. They threatened to kill her if she shouted. They later released her in the early hours of the second day.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said four Automated Teller Machine cards and 17 identity cards were recovered from the suspects.
She said, “The police recovered items which included military camouflage, two berets, two mobile phones, four ATM cards from different banks, and 17 ID cards bearing different names. After interrogation, it was discovered that the suspects were impersonators.
“They are also suspected to be hoodlums terrorizing the area. The suspects will be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation and prosecution.”

A 58-year-old man, Joseph Onweji, has threw operatives of the Lagos State Police into bouts of laughter when he declared that committing suicide is not a child's play, after he was saved by the security operatives as he attempted to jump into the Lagos Lagoon on July 24, 2016.

It was gathered that Onweji who said he had been ill for over 36 years with no solution, went to the Third Mainland Bridge, climbed on the railing and was about to jump into the water below when a passing Rapid Response Squad (RRS) police team stopped and rescued him.

Narrating the incident that pushed him into wanting to take his life, Onweji said:

“I have been sick for a long time. This illness started when I was just 22-years-old. It all started after I visited a house I was building in Ibadan."

"Later that day, when I was taking my bath, I felt a burning sensation on my body. I felt really hot. I couldn’t sleep for days. Since that day, I have been feeling restless. I can’t even sleep.

I spent two months at a Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba. The doctors were unable to cure me of the illness.

On on July 24, 2016, I went to the Third Mainland Bridge. I was about to jump when RRS men saved me. For anyone to kill himself is not an easy task. If it is easy, I would have done so long ago.”

Unbelievable!! Kenyan Man Allegedly Grows Breasts After Sleeping With Neighbour's Wife

According to Standard Digital, a popular Kenyan online portal, a 39-year-old man, James Mutua, has suddenly developed breasts after he allegedly slept with the wife of one his neighbours.

Mutua, according to the report, began growing the breasts that have now become saggy, in 2015 after several warnings from the neighbour to desist from having affairs with his wife fell on deaf ears.

The report has it that Mutua confessed to developing sagging breasts after ignoring the warning as he is now seriously looking for a cure for his condition and is of the view that the husband of the woman he was sleeping with decided to punish him through spiritual means.

Mutua who once worked as a chef at a hotel in Westlands, told reporters that his services were terminated in early 2015, when he began developing the breasts after he started sleeping with the woman, and he began selling fruits and vegetables within Westlands to sustain his family.

On how the breasts started growing, Mutua said he felt an unusual sensation on his chest and before he knew it, his breasts became enlarge and has been growing since then, forcing him to wear a bra and over-sized jackets to hide the bulge.

Pathetic!! Man Detained In Prison Custody For Stealing Cars In Enugu

Operatives of 9th mile Division of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested and charged a 26-year old suspect for stealing cars.
The suspect identified as one Chinedu James from Emene Enugu state has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stealing a Cherry Tiggo Jeep with registration NO FA 211 EKY from where parked. The suspect who is also known as NWA-EMENE on July 6th at Destiny layout Emene Enugu allegedly stole one Mercedez 190 with registration number UGB 243 AA.

It was gathered that until his arrest, the suspect has been in this nefarious activity of stealing a car from where parked.

He was arraigned before His worship Obiamaka of court 17 Enugu East magisterial District on Wednesday, July 27 where he pleaded to five count charges of stealing, unlawful possession amongst others and pleaded not guilty to the charge and remanded in prison custody while case is adjourned to September 27.

The state commissioner of police Emmanuel Ojukwu applauded the effort of his security personnel and maintained that the state command will continue to partner members of the public, sister security agencies and other relevant stake holders in the state until the entire area is made safe and secured pointing out that the state command will not rest on its oars at ensuring the actualization of a safe and secured environment.

Man Arrested For Raping One-Year-Old Girl In Nasarawa

 

The Nasarawa State Police Command on Friday paraded 10 criminals arrested for various offences, including armed robbery, rape and theft.
The Police Commissioner in the state, Mr. Lawal Shehu, told newsmen the culprits were arrested in Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
He added that one 24 year-old Arigwu Stephen was arrested for allegedly raping a year-old girl in Yar-kede village in 2013.
The father of the victim told The Punch the act was discovered in November 2015 when the daughter (now three) complained of stomach pain and was rushed to Federal Medical Center, Keffi.
He said the doctor decided to run a test and discovered that his daughter was rapped over two years ago.
“I got to know that my daughter was rapped over two years ago after a doctor report at FMC and was admitted for six days before she discharged on Thursday 7, 2016,” he lamented.
The police boss also said the command on July 7, 2016 arrested a suspected kidnapper, who kidnapped a Chinese mining expatriate, Mr. Pan Yuhu and killed a police corporal name (withheld) attached to him.
He said that the suspected kidnapper killed the police corporal and made away with his AK47 rifle with 30 rounds ammunition.
“Since the incident the police commenced an investigation, which eventually led to his arrest in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State.”
It was learnt that the deceased, who was on special duty, was serving at Mopol 38 Akwanga as an escort at the time of his death.
“A case of kidnapping occurred at Ayiwawa village where a Chinese mining company Tongyi group is being operated.”
“The suspect was apprehended following a tip off.”
Shehu added that the command arrested a 29 year-old, an indigene of Niger state, who graduated from Nasarawa state University, Keffi in 2012, Mr. Paul Yohana in Keffi local government of the for allegedly robbed some ladies of their six hands set at gun point.
“I was caught in an armed robbery in Keffi local government area of the state when I robbed some ladies of their hand set in the area.”
“I was taken to prison to serve one jailed term in 2014 because I stole a car and released in December last year,” the suspected car snatcher added.
“The gun, which I had been using to terrorize people in Keffi axis, was given to me by my friend, who is also a notorious armed robber in the area.”

Police Officer Found Dead After Issues With Girlfriend In Lagos

The corpse of a police officer identified as Sergeant Godspower Okoro, has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital, Lagos, for an autopsy to unravel the real cause of his ‘strange’ death.

The late Okoro, who was attached to the Alausa Police Division, was found dead in his apartment located on Baale Street in the Ojodu Berger area of the state, around 8am on Sunday.

The policeman had returned from duty around 7pm on Friday, reportedly drunk and did not go out until he was discovered dead two days later by his girlfriend.

The girlfriend, who had allegedly complained about his bad drinking habit several times, reportedly planned to take him to a church that morning for prayers.

Most residents were afraid to speak about the incident when Punch visited the residence on Tuesday.

But the landlord’s wife, who identified herself as Iya Nimota, said she last saw Okoro around 7pm on Friday when he returned from work.

The woman, who spoke in Yoruba, said except for being drunk atimes, the man was jovial and peaceful.

She added that Okoro and his girlfriend had a misunderstanding on Friday after he was allegedly drunk.

She said, “I don’t know what caused his death but I know he drank a lot. When he returned from work that Friday, he was drunk. I saw him when he arrived.

“He was supposed to go for a morning duty on Saturday but I learnt he called his superior that he was weak and would not be able to go. It was his girlfriend who came on Sunday that found him dead. She raised the alarm and called for help.

“She said she had a disagreement with him on Friday when they met in Alausa because he was tipsy. She said she wanted to take him to a church for prayers on Sunday when she saw his corpse.

“My husband went to report at the Ojodu Police Station and some policemen came to remove his corpse. Nobody was arrested. He was friendly. Heavy drinking was his major problem.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Okoro’s death, adding that a postmortem would be carried out on his body to ascertain the cause of his death.

Most times a person who has a problem cannot help him/herself. It is for those around them to help but that can only happen if the person in question is actually ready to be helped. Now it’s too late!

Indeed, yesterday being the 23rd day of June, 2016 remains and shall always be a memorable, testimony and Thanksgiving day in my entire existence Amen. Yesterday morning I went to Zenith Bank PLC, situate at NNPC Ejigbo to make some withdrawal, and thereafter, took same money to Access Bank PLC also situated at  NNPC Ejigbo to deposit the money, and on getting to the Access Bank where vehicles are packed, a young man I never knew nor met before in my entire existence was coming after me,
though I didn’t notice it, and suddenly the young man armed with a long gun shouted at me that i should give him the money I had with me and I refused and asked him which money, while I wanted to run away into the bank, immediately he shot the gun on my left leg and ran away but miraculously the bullet didn’t touch nor penetrate into me and when the mobile police men heard the sound of a gun shot they came out and shot at the armed robber but he stood to shot back at them and there after, both the Mobile Police and the armed robber started shooting at each other, the Mopol chased the armed robbers but unfortunately, couldn’t get them.

The Mopol from other divisions and soldiers came around to ensure peace and serenity is sustained and lives not wasted on the cause. Further, right in the banking hall, everyone was panicking, myself and some persons ran into the toilets, some just laid on the floor. I was busy crying and praying that GOD ALMIGHTY should pls rescue and safe us all. It’s really amazing to me and everyone present in the bank how GOD ALMIGHTY really saved my precious life. Many came looking at me like it was a film being watched at the cenima and they would say; My brother GOD trully and thoroughly loves me”.

What more can I say than to say E ME LA EBUBE DIKE. THANK YOU ABBA FATHER. E SE  O ARUGBO OJO. GRAND MERCI LORD JESUS! I’m really short of words because I’m still in shock and still like a dream to me. ONYEKACHI Anele, 36, is probably gnashing his teeth in regret, in the custody of the police at the headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, of the Imo Police Command, Owerri.

As he ponders over what the future holds for his four-year-old daughter and one-year-old son and the stepson who is at the centre of the fate that has befallen the family, he is equally learning, in a hard and unfortunate way, the meaning of what the bible says: “The devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking who it may devour.”

Anele who lived with his family in Obibiezena in Owerri North Local Government Area, is also wishing that he had restrained himself when the devil pushed his wife to stir up anger in him, not long after he returned home from vigil held at Jesus Disciples Fellowship.

Sunday Sun learnt from the Imo Commissioner of Police, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu that trouble began on June 1, 2016, when Anele’s wife, 32-year-old Chikodi, asked him to give her son from an earlier marriage, N100 to take to school.

Taking up the tale, Anele said: “I got married to my late wife Chikodi Anele over four years ago.

She had a son for another man before we got married. We have been living together in peace. We have two children. Our first child, a girl, is four years old while the second child is a boy, who is just one year old.”

He continued: “On May 31, 2016, I went to my church, Jesus Disciples Fellowship, where we had a vigil.

I came back around 5: 30 am and started playing Christian music. My wife came to where I was and said that I should give my stepson N100 naira to go to school. I told her that I had no money with me.

“You see, my late wife was hypertensive; she became very angry that I did not give my stepson N100. She started to insult me. I got angry and slapped her.

She slapped me in return. I was shocked by her effrontery and slapped her a second time. She fell down and fainted.

“I rushed her to City Hospital, Nekede. On getting there, the doctor checked her and confirmed that she was dead.

I went to the nearby police station at Umuguma and reported the matter to the police and they arrested me,” he said.

Promptly, the case was transferred from Umuguma Police Station to State Criminal Investigation Department, Owerri, the Imo State capital, where he has been in detention as investigation into the matter was in progress.

The officer-in-charge of the homicide section of the SCID, Supol Innocent Obi, further revealed that family members of the deceased had not yet been to the police to know the state of the matter. He stated that Anele had not yet informed them.

In anguish, Anele, told Sunday Sun: “I love my wife. I had no intention to kill her. It was misunderstanding and annoyance that prompted me to slap her and she died. Up till now, it looks like a dream and a mystery to me.

When Sunday Sun visited the compound where Anele lived with his family before the unfortunate incident happened, his neighbours were still in shock.

One of them, Chukudi Eneka said, “They both loved each other; they were a good family.

The devil just caused this thing. Suddenly we heard them quarrelling. The husband slapped the wife and the wife slapped him back. The husband then slapped her again. She fell down and fainted. We thought it was a joke.

When she was taken to the hospital, the doctor said she was dead. We are shocked over the incident.”

In what appears like a case of Anele being abandoned to his fate, the Deputy Commissioner of Po­lice in-charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa said that the kinsmen of Anele had not been to see him in the custody of the police, but adding that the corpse of the deceased was still in mortuary.

Doctors said that Somchai had lost a lot of blood and would need close supervision. It was too early to tell whether he would regain full use of his penis as there was severe psychological trauma to contend with as well as the injury itself. They said they would have to wait and see.
