READ: Female Photojournalist Turns Governor's PA

A female photojournalist Aisha Augie-Kuta has been appointed the senior special assistant to the governor of Kebbi state.

Augie-Kuta, also a filmmaker was appointed senior special assistant on new media by Abubakar Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi state last week.
The new governor’s assistant is an indigene of Augie local government area in Kebbi state.
She is the daughter of late renowned politician and broadcaster, Adamu Augie and her appointment is with immediate effect.
Augie-Kuta is also the first female to hold this position; she has won awards for her photo-documentary series on several subjects such as on the home life of migrating Fulani women as well as on breast cancer survivors.
Her awards include the Creative Artist of the Year at the Future Awards 2011 and the Sisterhood Award for Photographer of the Year in 2014.
Many of her works have been exhibited in Lagos, Abuja and New York among others.
She is a graduate of Mass Communication from the Ahmadu Bello University and is an MSc in media and communication student from the Pan Atlantic University. She is married with three sons.
Meanwhile, a senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah representing Kebbi south senatorial district last month sponsored an anti social media bill.
The bill titled “Prohibit Frivolous Petitions And Matters Connected Therewith, 2015″ has passed through the second reading in the House of Representatives.
The bill in its entity is fashioned to prohibit frivolous petitions and matters connected therewith. It has also sparked reactions from Nigerians.
