England and Sunderland star Adam Johnson pleads guilty to sexual activity with 15-year-old girl

Sunderland FC and England footballer Adam Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count charge of sexual activity with a child and one charge of grooming.
The soccer player first met the 15-year-old girl on the internet in 2014.
The 28-year-old midfielder was arrested for this on March, 2 2015. He was subsequently suspended by Sunderland FC but the suspension was lifted shortly after.
He pleaded guilty when the charges were read out to him by the clerk at the Bradford crown court.
According to The Guardian, he admitted to grooming the under-aged girl between late December 2014 and February 26, 2015 after which he met up with her and performed sexual acts with her even though he had the knowledge that the complainant was under-aged.
The Guardian reported the footballer as intentionally touching the 15-year-old sexually for which he pleaded “guilty” today, February 10.
The incident reportedly took place in the Castle Eden and Wingate neighbourhood or environs, according to reports.
According to The BBC, the case is to be formally visited on Friday, February 12.
The BBC further reported the judge as saying the full details of the case will be heard on Friday, adding that the people will eventually determine if the footballer is guilty or not.
This defendant has already pleaded guilty to two offences, you will hear more about them in detail when [the case is opened] to you on Friday.
“It will be for you and only you to determine if he is guilty or not guilty.”
Adam Johnson is a 28-year-old professional footballer from Castle Eden in County Durham, England.
He has played 12 times for the English national team.
He started off professionally at Middlesbrough before joining Manchester City and then Sunderland in 2012 for a fee of 10 million pounds.
According to The Mirror, the player will continue to star for the Sunderland team as the trial goes on, as stated by the manager Sam Allardyce.
